efficiency

(Nu) Ratio of output power (Pout) to input power (Pin).

input power

(Pin) Power taken from the source as input power to a power supply or system.

output power

(Pout) Power delivered to the load from the output of a power supply.

power loss

(Ploss) Input power (Pin) minus output power (Pout). Can be expressed in terms of efficiency (Nu). Ploss = (Pout)*(Nu/(1-Nu))
